Seven arrests after warrants targeting drug supply in New Addington

fficers have executed a series of early morning warrants aimed at disrupting drugs supply in and around Croydon.

On the morning of Friday, 23 July, local officers from the South Area Command Unit, supported by specialist assets including firearms officers, the Territorial Support Group (TSG) and the Dog Unit, carried out warrants at ten addresses across the New Addington area.

A total of seven people have been arrested, predominantly on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class A and B drugs – quantities of drugs have been recovered along with two knives.

At this time, they all those arrested remain in custody at south London police stations.

This morning’s warrants comprised of around 275 officers and has been put together using ongoing intelligence to identify individuals and venues used for drug dealing.



Detective Inspector Claire Christmas from the South Area Command Unit said:

“Drug dealing and the associated criminality that accompanies it brings misery to communities. This robust morning of action is just a small part of our ongoing work to tackle such criminality and ensure those responsible are taken off the streets.

“Drug dealers often target vulnerable members of society, using the threat of intimidation and violence to coerce them into doing their bidding. The misery this brings to individuals, their families and the wider community will not be tolerated and I hope this morning’s activity sends out a strong message – those who engage in this type of criminality will be identified, arrested and made to face the consequences of their actions.”

Man jailed for 11 years after 15kilos of cocaine discovered in Ilford

  A locksmith has been jailed after officers recovered £1.5million worth of Class A drugs that were concealed in an elaborate hide. Alex Guest, 40 (01.03.81) of Boleyn Way, Ilford, was sentenced to 11 years and three months’ imprisonment at Snaresbrook Crown Court on Tuesday, 30 March. He pleaded guilty to possession with intent to supply Class A drugs (cocaine) and possession of criminal property at the same court on 30 June 2020. On Monday, 20 April 2020 at about 19:20hrs officers from the Met’s Specialist Crime Command, supported by officers from the ANPR Interceptor Units, stopped a van on the M11 southbound, near the junction with the A406, in Redbridge, as part of an intelligence-led operation targeting the supply of Class A drugs. Drugs, cash and a firearm seized during multi-force raids across UK

  Approximately £150,000 cash, 20kgs of Class A and B drugs and a suspected firearm have been seized as part of a multi-police force operation that has been months in the making. The drugs recovered were heroin, cocaine, crack cocaine and cannabis. The suspected handgun was recovered at an address in Foxley Close, E8. The warrants were executed in London, all the way across to Bristol, down to Plymouth and stretching up to Aberdeen in northeast Scotland.
